Stock up on Rock Salt: Supernatural Gets Another Season

It’s a go. The CW has officially announced that Supernatural is getting another season. Rumor was, fans would have to wait until the upfronts in mid-May before finding out the fate of Sam and Dean Winchester. Trouble is, that date was just before the season finale, which is bound to be another huge cliffhanger.

According to EW, The CW decided not to wait after all, giving the green light to new seasons of Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, 90210 and a special all-star version of America’s Next Top Model.

Knowing that Supernatural will be back for a seventh season won’t lessen the angst that will undoubtedly be caused by the upcoming season finale. The two-part episode will air on May 20, leaving the week prior open to the series ending two-hour episode of Smallville.

So far there are nothing but rumors, but it’s a sure bet that the Supernatural finale will deal with Dean’s relationship with Lisa and Ben (should they kill them or not?), the war in heaven and that nasty old wall in Sam’s head (Joshua fit the battle of Jericho. . . .) . But no matter what happens, at least now fans know that there will be more adventures for Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) come the fall.
