Supernatural: Point of No Return
This week, Supernatural celebrates its 100th episode. Yeah, I know I already mentioned that, but did I mention that there are some new photos to go with the episode including my new favorite photo of Dean (Jensen Ackles)? That's it right there. Pretty nice, huh?
"Point of No Return" is another heavy-duty episode for the cast and in it, Jensen Ackles has to take Dean to a level where he's never been before. Sure Dean's been desperate before, like that time when Sam (Jared Padalecki) died after getting stabbed by Jake. But this time he's not just desperate, he's resigned and that's not a good place for him or the folks around him.
Dean's ready to say yes but Sam, Bobby (Jim Beaver) and Castiel (Misha Collins) have other plans. Plans that involve handcuffs and Bobby's panic room. Oh, but if it only it were that easy. Zachariah (Kurt Fuller playing it like a great Shakespearean actor) is not a happy angel. After giving 20 plus millennia of his life to his boss, he's been kicked to the curb with the heavenly version of a corporate pink slip. He takes it like any good worker who has just been told to pack his desk. He goes to a bar to get drunk then decides to prove everyone wrong.
If you've been looking at the photos or reading the synopsis for the episode, you already know that half-brother Adam (Jake Abel) figures into Zach's plan, but don't go moaning about it yet. This is not the anxious little brother we met in "Jump the Shark." This Adam is a little more Dean-like, much to Sam's dismay and he's not about to throw in with the Winches
ters, blood ties or not.
The result is a major showdown between the players and several twists that you hopefully won't see coming. For those who like a little more twiddle in their tease, here are a couple of my favorite moments.
-- The opening in the bar is delightfully clever.
-- Dean packing. . . ouch.
--- Sam's "how dare you leave me" speech - ouch with a twist.
--- I swear Zachariah calls Sam and Dean "erotically co-dependent" but maybe I miss-heard that.
--- Don't piss off the nerdy angel.
And of course, the end. It's another heart-tugger.
All of this is not to say that I didn't have a few complaints, a couple of plot holes spotted and a confusion here or there, but we'll talk about that later. In the meantime, here are more pics and a reminder not to miss Supernatural's 100th episode on Thursday, April 15 at 9:00 on The CW.

thank you for writing this up! I can't wait to see the episode!
jw....how were you able to see the episode before all the rest of us?
Thank you for pictures and comments about the episode. I agree, the picture of Dean is a new favorite. He sure is handsome!
I have been looking forward to this episode for a long time, however all the different spoilers have made me worried. I love the aspect of a third brother. I wish they would keep him in the show. As for Castiel - writers: Please do not destroy the wonderful relation he has with Dean!
I'm an entertainment reporter so I was given access by Warner Brothers to preview the episode.
so the way I see it, the last scene could either destroy me or move my heart in a good way. *goes insane*
I wish I were made of stronger stuff.
thanks for this!
Thanks- though I should point out that it's far more likely that Zac finds the Winchesters NEUROTICALLY co-dependent.
We shall soon see!
I want to be an entertainment reporter!
Thank you for this preview and for the photos of ALL the actors. This episode is getting so much hype, I hope it lives up to it.
Castiel and Dean are due some lumps. After all, the writers destroyed Sam and Dean's relationship (the supposed "heart of the show") for kicks and to put the fans through turmoil, so why not let Castiel and Dean have a throw down too? Does anyone know if Misha will be back next season?
Thanks for your review. I'm a little nervous about this episode given where they've already gone with Dean's character. Do you think the episode did justice to the Dean we know and love?
All that love for Jensen and Dean and none for Jared or Sam? I hope Sam actually has something to do in the episode, other than the one speech you alluded to.
But if Dean actually leaves Sam...I really hope that happens. Then he'll never be able to throw Sam going to college in Sam's face again, because Dean will have proven that he's not above doing the same thing, or really, worse. If Dean's taking off now, in the midst of all of this, that's, IMO, far worse than Sam leaving for college.
On an unrelated note, I have to say that I love the name of this website.
You're a lucky girl. Regarding your comments you enjoyed it a lot, can't wait to see it on thursday. Thanks for the info.
Don't suppose you could tell us whether Dean and Cas have any other scenes alone together besides their fight, and how their bond is affected by the end of the episode?
Thanks and glad to hear you enjoyed the episode. !
Finally a review from someone who actually likes Dean.
I'm glad you seemed to like the episode over all. That gives me hope.
Also that Mr. Ackles sure is a nice-looking fella.
Jen, I admit to being a bit of a Dean girl, so I suppose I lean more his way in episodes, but I will say that when I first heard about this episode I thought Sam wouldn't even be in it, so I was pleased to see him throughout.
And thanks on the kudos to the title - it tickles me.
Pam - this episode certainly does Dean justice. I think it shows that he's the man we've always known him to be.
Neurotically Co-Dependent - yeah, that, too! LOL.
poor sam is dead since 4x22!!!
no he really says erotically ...
saw the episode this morning, not to give it away but there were some great one-liners and i loved the ending!
