Supernatural Origins: Win an Autographed Copy
Supernatural Rising Son Issue #1 hit comic book stores this week and to celebrate the new series, we’re giving away copies of Supernatural Origins: The Director’s Cut.
ETA: Contest is Over. Thanks for entering!
Rising Son picks up several years after the first comic series, Supernatural Origins, ended. Eleven-year old Dean is now old enough to join John on the hunt, but is he old enough to deal with the horrors he’s about to see? And what about Sam? Now seven, he’s really feeling the pain of the constant moving around, new schools, motel rooms instead of a home and hardly a chance to make friends. More and more the brothers come to depend only on each other as John continues to put the search for their mother’s killer above all else.
In Issue One, John goes searching for one of Mary’s relatives who has fallen off the map. Seems all her family and friends are disappearing and he’s going to find out why. It’s a brutal tale that reminds me of the Eerie and Creepy comics I used to read as a kid.
Issue Two goes on sale May 28.
John Winchester is haunted by his past and fears his future. The death of his wife Mary left him broken, but the revelation that his son Sam might have a connection to the dark world of the supernatural might be too much much to bear. Is he willing to sacrifice Dean to protect Sam from a lifetime of horrors?
Issue Three goes on sale June 25.
The sacrifices John Winchester has made for the “greater good” of hunting are tremendous, but he finally takes the biggest step of all: arranging a first “hunt” for his older son Dean. Is the young man ready for the horrors his father has hunted for years? Will he finally “connect” with an emotionally distant father in the only way possible?
Issue Four goes on sale July 23.
John’s decision to start his son Dean down the road to the dark world of Hunting has left him unsure about what to do with his younger son, Sam. There’s something special about Sam — but is that quality to be nurtured or feared? Could a mysterious woman trailing the trio hold the answer?
Still written by Supernatural Executive Producer Peter Johnson, but with all new art, the new series of Supernatural comics should help tide you over during the long, dry, rerun filled summer.
Now, about that contest. Supernatural comic author Peter Johnson will be autographing two copies of Supernatural Origins: The Director’s Cut for the giveaway. This trade paperback is a compilation of the six comics in the first series but with a twist. After publication of the comics, Peter did an interview with me that brought him quite a bit of feedback. Fans spoke their mind about the Impala, the art, and various details that went against canon. So when they sat down to republish the comics in trade paperback form, Peter made a number of changes based on the fans suggestions — including making the Impala the family car from the very first frame.
Oh yes, and Peter’s plotting partner will be autographing the books, too. Some guy named Eric Kripke?
THE PRIZE: 1 copy (awarded to each of two winners) of Supernatural Origins, the trade paperback, autographed by Peter Johnson and Eric Kripke

MD
My favorite episode is In My Time Of Dying
Devil’s Trap is my favorite episode of Supernatural so far! I love the storyline, acting, and direction in this episode the most. The plot twist with John being possessed by the YED was terrific! It was an all around amazing episode!
Anyway, my 2 cents
Nightshifter
All Hell Breaks Loose Part I and II are definitely my favorite, closely followed by Born Under A Bad Sign and Heart All of them are amazing!

What Is and What Should Never Be
It’s got to be All Hell Breaks Loose Pt 2
Tall Tales!!! Because “slow dancing aliens” are unique!! ROFL
My favorite hand down as to be Provenance
Favorite…Devil’s Trap, ya, definitely Devil’s Trap…
What a great idea! My favourite episode would have to be Born Under A Bad Sign, from season two, though it’s hard to pick just one!
What is and what should never be, In my time of dying and All Hell Breaks Loose, both parts. I love the whole show, so.. this is difficult.
Season 2 episode 15 - Tall Tales
Karen Shaw’s last blog post..Why dogs bite people . . . ;o)
My fave episode is 201 ‘In My Time Of Dying’. It’s made of awesome!
My favorite episode is “Devil’s Trap”.
My favorite episode is The Pilot. The one that starts the whole obsession.
Only one favorite? Gosh, that’s difficult….okay, well, I’ll go with Mystery Spot.
my favourite episode at the moment is Mystery Spot I think. It made me laugh and cry…well sob…in one episode.
There are so many episodes that I love, but since I’ve been hooked since day one I’m going to make it easy on myself and say the Pilot episode.
Born Under a Bad Star.
In My Time of Dying!
I want to enter in this contest too!!!
\o
My favorite episode is “What Is and What Should Never Be”
Is very emotional and is totally amazing.
Born Under A Bad Sign
This is hard, I love all the episodes but if I have to choose one I’ll go with What Is And What Should Never Be because it breaks my heart everytime.
My favorite episode would be “Born Under a Bad Sign.” Evil Sam rules, and Jared’s performance was outstanding! A close second would be “All Hell Breaks Loose II.”
All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2.
It definitely has to be Mystery Spot. I’ve seen it five times within the two days it aired, and maybe eight or nine times total.
definitley “Heart”
Playthings
“In My Time of Dying”
Tall Tales.
Two words: Bed. Wrestling.
What is and What Should Never Be
My favorite episode is Shadow from season 1.
The hardest part is picking one episode!
Dream a Little Dream of Me.
What is and What Should Never Be is my all time favourite! That episode was perfect in every way.
My all-time favorite is “Born Under A Bad Sign.”
my favorite episode is Faith, closely followed by What is and what should never be.
=)
I like all of them but I think I’ll pick GHOSTFACERS for a number of reasons…mainly because this episode appears as footage from a reality tv show and it also certainly helps that the theme song the Ghostfacers have is so catchy! Haha.
My favorite episode (so far) has to be Mystery Spot! It was such an emotional roller-coaster and I’ve found myself watching it over and over again!!
I would have to say S3 Bad Day at Black Rock because it was hiarious yet said a lot!
my fave episode of Supernatural whould have to be all of them.
but if I had to choose one episode is whould be season 1 devils trap.
Devil’s Trap
“What Is And What Should Never Be”
Favourite episode is Faith from S1 because that was the first time we saw that SPN wasn’t just a monster of the week show, it had real depth
Nightshifter - most awesomest storyline
(and I know that that is grammatically wrong, but I thing this just shows how superb it is :D)
oh and well shot and I just loved how they used Renegade at the end
Dead in the Water. It was the 1st episode I saw and I especially loved the parts about Dean’s sentimental side.
In My Time of Dying. The interaction between all the Winchesters and the performance of each actor was just amazing <3
Asylum
Tall Tales
Oooh
Faith
Houses of the Holy
Born Under a Bad Sign
Jus In Bello
Ghost Facers
Salvation
Dead Man’s Blood
Hunted
Bloodlust
Yeah… I think that’s enough.
Simon Said. I can’t get enough of the psychic kids, especially Sam and Andy.
Croatoan, hands down. It’s the first time we see Dean express how he really feels about hunting.
Hard to choose but if I have to - Devil’s Trap
I have to pick just one??? OK, if I have to… I pick “Devil’s Trap” as my favorite. Jeffrey Dean Morgan rocked in that ep! Well, actually he rocks in everything, but that one was my favorite!
Hollywood Babylon. Yes, that episode was WIN!
And also Ghostfacers. Can’t beat that. xD
My favourite episode was “Tall Tales” from season 2 ’cause it made me laugh and laugh and laugh.
My favourite over all is probably season 2’s “What Is and What Should Never Be.” It was so well done and I love Dean-centric episodes.
Brittanie M.’s last blog post..Stephenie Meyer signing!
There are so many, but it’s hard to top ‘Devil’s Trap.’
Hell House.
My favorite episode of all time?
Hands down, All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 2
Gemini’s last blog post..Campaign #3: Here We Go!
What Is and What Should Never Be
Angel’s last blog post..Supernatural Tonight!
What is and what should never be
Fave episode - that’s hard, they’re all so good. “What Is and What Never Should Be”
By far it would be “Tall Tales”
Mystery Spot. I think I’ve watched it 20 times now and I just can’t get enough of it!
Tall Tales
My favorite episode is and will probably always be Skin.
Born Under a Bad Sign, for sure! (But of course they are ALL amazing)
Supernatural is such an amazing show it is hard to have just one favorite ep
I love “Something Wicked” because I found the back story really interesting in creating the backstory for the characters we had come to love
“The Benders,” because like Dean said in the episode “Demons I get, People are Crazy,” and The Bender family was terrifying to me. This was the first episode I had seen that actually scared me, so it holds a special place in my heart because of that.
Ghostfacers
My favorite episode of Supernatural so far has got to be ‘A Very Supernatural Christmas’. We got an explaination for Dean’s necklace, why the guys don’t really celebrate any holidays, and the flashbacks were amazing. Brilliant episode.
The Pilot. Although I have to say, I saw it when it aired for the very first time unedited (with Metallica playing Enter Sandman, I was so excited and said “Dean and this Eric Kripke dude are my guys!”) and I have to admit I preferred it (slightly) to the edited one shown days or a week later (although I understand why the changes had to be made).
My favourite is “Dead in the Water”. First episode by Kim Manners and first look at real Dean.
Oooh, tough one! But I’m going to have to go with ‘Mystery Spot’
My favorite episode is All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 2.
My favorite Supernatural is What Is and What Should Never Be.
What I really liked about it was how Dean got to have what he’d always wanted. if only for a little while. But in having that, he lost the most important thing and that was Sam.
They lost their connection and that’s what really made the episode heartbreaking because he realized that everything wasn’t right and that he didn’t get to have a brake from being a hunter.
All the people they’d saved were dead and their father’s legacy didn’t exist.
It was an amazing episode for that and so many other reasons.
I could go on forever but I’ll give you a break from reading all that
My favorite episode thus far is “Mystery Spot.” It had a little bit of everything that I love about this show. It’s a tough choice, though. The whole show is incredible.
My favorite episode was “What Is And What Should Never Be” because the performances were brilliant. The actors were out of their comfort zone, and they still knocked it out of the park.
My favorite episode has got to be Season 3’s “Bad Day at Black Rock” - hilarious and heart felt; some of the best screen-writing and acting I’ve seen! It was awesome!
Every single episode is amazing but my all time favourite woud have to be “All Hell Breaks Loose Part II”, it was the greatist season finale!
“Mystery Spot”! It’s thought provoking and darkly comical. Absolutely fantastic.
Mystery Spot!
Hard to pick just one, but my ultimate favourite has to be ‘What is and What Should Never Be’.
What is and What Never Should Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Haha, Sam’s pastels.
Faith
It’s hard to pick just one, but my favorite would have to be…Devil’s Trap, best…episode…ever!
What is and What Should Never Be
My favorite is Salvation/Devil’s Trap. I know it’s *technically* two episodes, but it’s one story!
Devil’s Trap
In My Time of Dying
“Faith.” It is the epitome of The Show’s lighting. It also brings a difficult struggle into the boys’ life, with a controversial subject treated very carefully but seemingly flawlesssly. And it was the only time Dean was in a sweatshirt!
Something Wicked
Its so hard to pick just one episode. “All Hell Breaks Loose” Part 2 ranks up there as well as The Supernatural Christmas this year (can’t wait for the DVD). I like “All Hell Breaks Loose” for a variety of reasons, not just the fact that it lead to a major storyline, but the look on the Winchester boys’ faces when they saw their father crawl out of Hell to help them was priceless. To me that summed up a lot of what went on during the first two seasons.
Take care,
Jace
All Hell Breaks Loose: Part II
Fresh Blood
My favorite episode of Supernatural is “Dream A Little Dream Of Me”.
… Tied with several other runner-ups, but I guess this one just takes the cake. I love how we get to see inside Dean’s head, and see the man behind the mask.
There’s so many fantastic episodes, but my favourite has to be “What Is and What Should Never Be” (which appears to be a favourite amongst the majority! Jensen really knocked it out of the park and it’s one of approximately ten episodes that have made me bawl like a baby.)
Definitely A Very Supernatural Christmas. Young Dean resorting to burglary in order to provide a Christmas for his little brother; the backstory of The Necklace; Sam’s acquiescence of Dean’s wish for a final Christmas, putting aside his own feelings; and Dean having a gift ready for Sam anyway, not realizing his brother’s intentions…to me, this underscores the subtext of the entire series, which is Family is Everything.
It’s so hard to choose just one! There are so many that I love and rewatch for different reasons. I’ll say “Bad Day at Black Rock,” though, as it’s currently very high on my favorites list.
The Benders
In My Time of Dying.
My favorite episode is Faith. Hurt Dean and Worried Sam = Love. Not to mention amazing acting on the boy’s parts.
What Is and What Should Never Be.
“Nightshifter”
Argh, tough. Hm …
In My Time of Dying
Devil’s Trap
Mystery Spot
Nightshifter! Because really, who doesn’t love mandroid theories? And ‘Renegade’ (one of the best songs EVER) closes it.
What Is and What Should Never Be
tough to pick just one … it would have to be “Bad Day at Black Rock”.
S. Suzuki’s last blog post..Sketches, WIP
Devil’s Trap
Faith
I’d love to be entered into the contest.
I’d have to say my favorite episode is the Pilot.
All Hell Breaks Loose parts 1 and 2
My favorite episode is What Is and What Should Never Be. Although it was really hard to pick a favorite, so many are so awesome.
God this was hard! At least you didn’t make us choose which brother we liked the best.
I’m going with Born nder a bad sign
My favorite episode was Phantom Traveler from the first season! That episode had both me laughing out loud and a bunch of great ’subtle’ character development. Hahaha. Seriously, though.
Devil’s Trap. I don’t scare easily, but the end of that had me out of my seat.
Born Under a Bad Sign
The acting in that one was suburb. The subtle shifts in Sam’s behaviour from normal!Sam to possessed!Same were insanely well done. The reactions of everyone to the situation were equally as awesome.
It’s hard to narrow down to just one, but I’d say my favourite is All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2.
My favorite episode is Houses of the Holy; yeah, I know I’m a little crazy, but I love all the little bits of it, and could watch it over and over again and never tire of it. Plus I love the Zeppelin song of the same name. Heh.
Gembat’s last blog post..Just a quick question for y’all:
Born under a bad sign!
Jade’s last blog post..selling manga and kingdom hearts guide book
Devil’s Trap
“Skin” would be my favourite. The dynamic of not really knowing if you can trust someone and of course the fight between the brothers. Amazing.
I’d have to go back to season one and pick Home, because it was really the first episode I felt the family element. Sam and Dean were saved by their mother’s spirit, John showed up for the first time since the Pilot, the brothers met Missouri who was an asset to their father as he began hunting, and they all had to face what was happening in the only home they ever had as a family.
Favorite ep = all of them! …okay, no.
WIaWSNB (awesomest ep ever), followed by Mystery Spot and In My Time of Dying.
What is and what should never be!
Ghostfacers!
It’s hard to chose just one, but I’d have to say the Pilot since that’s what started my love for the show.
my favorite is In My Time of Dying. because not only the story is ful of emotion, the visual, the camera work, the lighting is also beautiful. it’s really like a big screen movie instead of a TV series episode.
“In my Time of Dying”
Roadkill
My favourite Supernatural episode must be ‘Hell House’ just because it is funny and scary at the same time. Best entertainment there is, indeed! Even though, every episode is one of a kind.
My favorite — today, at least — is “Heart.” Such a wrenching parallel to Sam & Dean’s situation
