Ode to the Writers’ Strike

Last week when I sat down to write my Ode to My Favorite TV Actors for Project Blog, I was hindered by a requisite word count. 50 words, no more, no less. But now the chains have been broken and I can go hog wild and finish the ode the way it was meant to be. So here it is, the new and improved Ode to the Writers’ Strike sung to the tune of Home on the Range.

Ode to the Writers’ Strike

Oh, give me a home,
Where the TV stars roam,
Where Jensen and Jared do slay.
Rob Morrow with his gun, keeps those crooks on the run
And Joe Flannigan fights Wraith off all day.

Writers’ strike, please go away.
So the actors can start work today!
I know you should get,
a percentage of the net,
when all the new media does play.

Oh, please let me see
Alex O’Loughlin in a tee
And Taylor Kitsch in pants that are tight
John Barrowman looks best in a dress shirt and vest
and in his long coat - well, that’s quite a sight!

Writers’ strike, please go away.
So the actors can start work today!
I know you should get,
a percentage of the net,
when all the new media does play

Hooray!

Yay for the Jared and Jensen mention! Drool…

Did you see at all when I told people to come check out your episode-should-be list for Supernatural? Well, I put up a pic of them, and my mom doesn’t get cable … so she called and was like who were those incredibly gorgeous boys that you had a photo of???

Have you sent this to the managers of the studios to ask them to start negotiating fairly with the writers? I think they might be entertained by your poem and the unique style will actually make them think about doing the right thing.

And . . . and 24! We don’t want to wait until May for the next season. (However, if in means an improvement from last season, we might be willing to compromise).

It’s awesome when the Jersey girl attitude meets Hollywood. Love your unique take on the world of TV. :)

    Cynthia,

What do you think is going to happen with the writer’s strike? I have just heard that negotiations have broken down again. Do you think there is any hope of resolving this?

Sadly, talks have broken down again and I’m thinking it will be the new year before this is solved.
