Alton Brown combines humor, energy, and geek-dom to demystify foods and explain not only what to do, but how to do it, and why it works based on the science. And I've been using his Turkey recipe for several years now. I met him a couple times a books signings, and he's even funnier in person. I'm a big fan of Good Eats.
